How I Got Here

2010

Started my interior design studies at the Hong Kong Design Institute. I was fascinated by how spaces affect people—their mood, their health, their connection to home. But there was something missing in the curriculum. Nobody really talked about where materials came from or what happened to them after they were installed.

2013

Graduated and started working with boutique design firms in Central and Wan Chai. I designed beautiful spaces, but I kept noticing the same pattern: clients wanted eco-friendly homes, but they didn’t understand sustainable materials. We’d recommend something, they’d hesitate, and often they’d choose the cheaper option anyway. I realized the problem wasn’t lack of desire—it was lack of knowledge.

2016

Pursued advanced training at the University of Hong Kong’s Centre for Sustainable Development. This changed everything. I studied circular economy principles, lifecycle assessments, local sourcing networks. I learned that sustainability isn’t about sacrifice—it’s about smarter choices. And I became obsessed with finding local artisans and suppliers who were already doing this work.

2019

Joined EcoNest Design Limited as Lead Design Educator. This is where I get to do what I actually love: teaching people to see their spaces differently. We run hands-on courses in Sai Kung, work with local reclaimed material suppliers, and connect designers with artisans doing real sustainable work. It’s not theoretical—every project is something you can actually build.

Areas of Expertise

I focus on practical, real-world sustainable design across these core areas

Sustainable Material Selection

Understanding where materials come from, how they’re made, and what happens at the end of their life. I work with reclaimed timber, recycled metals, natural fibers, and low-VOC finishes sourced from local and regional suppliers.

Eco-Friendly Interior Design

Creating beautiful, functional spaces that prioritize environmental impact without sacrificing aesthetics or comfort. Every design decision is made with both people and the planet in mind.

Design Education & Training

Teaching interior designers, architects, and homeowners the practical skills needed to specify sustainable materials and implement eco-friendly design principles in residential and commercial projects.

Supplier & Artisan Networks

I’ve built relationships with local craftspeople and material suppliers across Hong Kong’s New Territories who are committed to sustainable practices. I help connect designers with these partners for real-world projects.

Project Consultation

Working directly with design teams and property owners on residential and commercial projects—from material sourcing to implementation. I’ve led over 180 projects focused on sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Budget-Friendly Sustainable Design

Proving that eco-friendly spaces don’t have to be expensive. I specialize in finding creative solutions that fit real budgets while maintaining design quality and environmental integrity.

What I Believe In

Beauty and Responsibility Aren’t Opposing Forces

You don’t have to choose between a stunning interior and one that’s kind to the environment. The best designs work for both. It’s not about compromise—it’s about understanding how materials and choices create the spaces we actually want to live in.

Knowledge Changes Everything

Most people aren’t making poor environmental choices because they don’t care. They’re making them because they don’t understand the alternatives. Once you see how local timber can be more affordable than imported hardwood, or how natural finishes outperform synthetic ones, the decision becomes obvious.

Local Matters

There’s an incredible network of artisans and sustainable suppliers right here in Hong Kong and the New Territories. Supporting local makers isn’t just better for the environment—it creates better relationships, better quality, and better stories behind the things in our homes.

Teaching is the Real Work

I can design individual spaces, but if I teach designers and homeowners to make better choices themselves, that impact multiplies. Every person who learns sustainable design goes on to influence dozens of projects. That’s where real change happens.
